Tributes paid to BR Ambedkar

Jammu/Kathua, Dec 6: The Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association hailed the Vice-Chancellor Professor R.D. Sharma for constituting a Committee of senior law knowing academicians to relook into their long-drawn disputed cases, and the State Cabinet for granting financial autonomy to the State Universities with an object to ensure efficient utilization of resources. With this, the Universities will be free to decide how to spend the allocated money based on its own internal allocation mechanism and according to what they intend to achieve, said Association members while speaking on Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar at a programme organised Sheikh Nagar here, today in connection with observance of his 60th Nirvan Diwas. Paying tribute to Ambedkar, the Association President R.L. Kaith said he wasn't just a politician but an intellectual as well who did some great work as an economist. "There was hardly any economist who had as much insight as his in that era. Hence, he was able to write many books on subjects like Indian economic system, and his writings are relevant even after too many of the years," he added. Sree Guru Ram Dass Yuva Sangthan today organized a rally on 60th death anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar here today.
According to press release, a large number of youth paid tribute to their leader and took resolution to follow his foot- marks for development of the community and society. While interacting to media, Dhain Chand, a SC leader informed that many organizations and Sangthan jointly paid tribute to great national leader who directed the country for the development but few people in the state and Union government are trying to discard their contribution.
He alleged state government to issue an order wherein reservation in DPC has been seized that a big jerk for the principles and fundamental rights framed by BR Ambedkar.
He warned state government to scrap such SRO/ order otherwise ready to face dare consequences in days to come.
Meanwhile JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir has paid rich tributes to Dr. B .R. Ambedkar ji on his 59th Death Anniversary, popularly known as Babasaheb.
The Nation would continue to remain indebted to Dr. Ambedkar for the selfless services rendered by him. Babsaheb was a jurist, economist,
social reformer who campaigned against social discrimination and against untouchables (Dalits), PCC Chief said.
Paying rich tributes to Babasaheb, PCC Chief said that Babsaheb was the India's first Law Minister and the principal architect of
Constitution of India. The services rendered by Babasaheb as the First Law Minister, Economist, Politician and jurist would continue to lead us to the path of development and prosperity, he said.
