Home Ministry sends stern reminder to check radicalisation | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 6: The home ministry has issued a stern warning to the state government to check in the radicalization in Kashmir, the ministry in its communication has said immediate steps need to be taken to check this dangerous trend, which could undo all the good and ground work done in the Kashmir all these years. "The communication by the ministry is very serious. It's alarmed by the turns in the situation here and has sternly asked the state government to devise a strategy to check this trend," said the sources. The sources said the home ministry has advised the CM and the ministers to reach out the people especially the youth and hold more interaction to them. "The youth are being given toxic dose on fabricated stories and get them engaged. The CM should take a lead and other ministers should follow him in it. It's one of the way to defuse the situation and change the trend," said the official. According to the sources the MHA has also directed the official to devise a double edged strategy to first checking the sources of radicalisation, isloate them and expose them. The second part is to reach out to them get them more engaged including in many outdoor activities and infuse their mind with more secular liberal literature. "The MHA directions are very pointed. Ashok Parsad, form DGP, had held discussions with the state officials and it's after his ground report that MHA has got more alarmed and has written it to the state government," said the officials. Sources said the state DGP has also been directed to be more pro-active in stemming this trend as the police is on the ground and is best and first bet to bring the desired change. "State police has huge work force and if it can get more active it can help in bringing the change. The police is well connected and has real connections on the ground and this is the real advantage," said the source. |
