Another 'holy man' arrested for unholy acts 12/6/2015 11:41:28 PM Early Times Report Rajouri, Dec 6: Rajouri police have arrested a self styled Godman (Peer Sahib) who allegedly outraged the modesty of a married woman and also attempted rape on her at his residence in village Azmtabad in Thanamandi tehsil. The accused namely Shahbaz Ahmed Qazi s/o Mohd Azam was arrested by the police on the complaint of the woman in case FIR No 191/15 under sections 323/376 & 511 RPC. Sources said that the accused was claiming to provide relief to the sufferers through spiritual measures. On Saturday a mother of 6 children and wife of Mohd Shakoor resident of Manyal-B went to meet the self styled Peer Sahib to seek his blessing as her one son was suffering from a disease for the last few days. After attending other blessing seekers , Peer Sahib locked the door from inside and outraged the modesty of the victim .He also attempted rape with the victim and in the process he also tore her clothes. The victim tried to raise the alarm but the accused gagged her. After physical scuffle for some time the victim managed to unlock the door and escaped from the spot. Victim narrated the incident to her family members and husband and later they approached the police at Thanamandi. Police allegedly tried to hush up the matter initially. "Disturbed over the alleged casual approach of the Police and mounting pressure from Peer Sahib , we approached the local media persons for help" said the victim. After repeated queries by the media persons police swung into action and lodged FIR against the accused and also arrested him. Later Rajeshwar Singh,SSP also held a press conference at Rajouri and briefed the media about the incident and said police have started investigation into the incident.
