Poonch Brigade organizes T20 Cricket Tournament 12/6/2015 10:49:30 PM Early Times Report Poonch, Dec 6: Army XI defeated Media XI by 23 runs in a friendly T20 Cricket tournament organized by Poonch Brigade at Pritam Pavilion Poonch here today. Commander Poonch Brigade, Brigadier N S Brar was the Chief Guest on the occasion who also distributed prizes among the participants. Army XI, after winning the toss, set a challenge able target of 173 runs with the loss of seven wickets in 20 over. Imran Khan, Captain of the Army XI was the highest scorer, who scored 69 (Not out) whereas, Adarsha Parihar scored 27, Gajendra Rathore scored 24, Shikhar 24 and also took 3 wickets. Mayank and Rohit took 3-3 wickets each for Army XI and Naveen took one wicket.Imran Khan also declared as the man of the Match. In reply, Media XI could not chase the target but fought well and was bundled out for 150 runs in 19.2 over. Shahzad Bhat and Faisal Noumani were the top scorers from the media side who scored 34 and 35 respectively. Caption of the Team Salil Raina also played well and scored 28 runs for his team, SI Sameer scored 18 for the team. Shazad Bhat and J B Singh took 2-2 wickets each. Commander Poonch Brigade Brigadier N S Brar appreciated the role of media for their cordial relations with the security forces and in highlighting the positive aspects of the area.
