Jammu, Dec 6: A screening camp and patient awareness programme for hemophilia and other coagulation related disorders was held at GMC Auditorium at Jammu. The camp was conducted by Compressive Hemophilia Care Centre, Department of Pathology, GMC Jammu with collaboration of Society for Hemophilia care India, New Delhi. In this camp large number of patients and their parents along with Doctors, including physiotherapist Dr Basant and faculty members particularly from Department Of pathology and paramedical staff actively participated. Blood samples were collected from the patients to access the factor level as well as inhibitor status. Principal, GMC Jammu, Dr Zahid Geelani was chief guest and Vijay Kaul Executive Director SHC India was the guest of honour. Dr KK Kaul, Chief Nodal Officer, CHCC GMC and professor and head ,department of pathology under whose guidance the entire programme was held, gave a detailed account about the Hemophilia burden in Jammu and also highlighted the importance of such camps. Dr. Zahid Geelani, Principal GMC assured full assistance and help in achieving the goal for the welfare of these patients. |
