| Sukhnandan gives vent to his emotion in CM's presence | | Inauguration of park on Tawi Bank | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 6: PHE, Irrigation and Flood control Minister Sukhnandan Choudhary on Sunday created piquant situation for the Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed by exposing the officers of the Tourism department in front of him by claiming that the park which was inaugurated by him was actually developed by the Irrigation department and they were not even invited by the officers of the Tourism department to attend the function.
Angry minister did not even spare the deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh when he refused to join chorus with him in front of the Chief Minister.
"Please tell him the truth, how Tourism department has added few flowers in the park developed by the Irrigation department and now claiming it is their own project", Sukhnandan Choudhary said before Chief Minister acquired his high seat on the dais after inaugurating the park.
Both Sukhnandan Choudhary and Speaker Kavinder Gupta did not join the group of VVIPs when Chief Minister along with his deputy arrived at the venue to dedicate the same to the people of Jammu.
On his return when Mufti Mohd Sayeed spotted both the senior BJP leaders occupying the front row seat he offered to shake hands with him.
Sukhnandan Choudhary responded by shaking hands but not before lodging a complaint in a blunt manner.
In his brief speech from the dais PHE Minister once again repeated his allegation while sharing his angst over being left out by the babus of the Tourism department. Divisional Commissioner Pawan Kotwal ji is also sitting here and when he was serving my department he must be remembering our department has developed this piece of 25 kanals of land and today we were not even invited by the officers of the Tourism department.
Before the arrival of Chief Minister when Sukhnandan Choudhary shared his angst and directed the officers to spread the truth among the senior officers Director Tourism RK Varma was seen instructing junior officers to prepare another plaque acknowledging the land was provided by the Irrigation department.
Embarrassed Chief Minister and his deputy tried their level best to pacify the PHE minister but before he could be pacified he had already exposed the poor coordination between the field departments and the made race in taking due credit for even works not executed by them.
In his brief speech Sukhnandan Choudhary later extended hearty thanks to the Chief Minister for looking after the interests of all his cabinet colleagues and both the parties. |
