Omar takes dig at PDP's silence over students' arrest

Srinagar, Dec 9: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today took a dig at ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti for her silence over the arrest of six students in south Kashmir.The arrest of six students in Pampore area of south Kashmir has been widely condemned by separatist organisations and other people in the valley. A tweet by a freelance photographer said #Handcuffed: "6 students tortured by police in Pampore. Not even allowed to appear in exams." #Kashmir @HRC, ''While our CM in waiting Ms Mufti never tires of telling us what an amazing job the PDP/BJP Govt is doing!!!/'' tweeted Omar, the working president of the main opposition National Conference (NC).
Taking a dig at the silence so far of the PDP leader. Chairman of hard line Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani also reacted to the incident alleging that atrocities being committed by the security forces and state police are forcing students to join militant groups in the valley.
