Police arrested 3 bootleggers; recover 141 pouches of country made liquor | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 9: Police have arrested three bootleggers and recovered 141 pouches of country made liquor from their possession in two separate cases at Thanger and Bhour Camp areas falling under the jurisdictions of Police Posts (PP) Pallanwala and Chatha respectively. In a surprise checking, the Police Party of PP Pallanwala who had laid a Naka at Thanger intercepted one Auto bearing registration number JK02AM-9137. The Auto was driven by Swarn Singh son of Thoru Ram had another person travelling in it identified as Yash Pal Singh son of Rattan Singh both residents of Pallanwala. During search of the vehicle, police recovered 100 pouches of J&K Excise liquor (country made liquor) of 180 ml each. Both the accused were arrested and liquor was seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 86/15 U/S 48-A Excise Act was registered and further investigation of the case is going on. Similarly, Police Party of PP Chatha laid a surprised naka at Bhour Camp Chatha and intercepted one scooter bearing registration number JK 02 S -2412 being ridden by Vinod Kumar son of Tak Chand of Bhour Camp Chatha. During search police recovered 41 pouches of J&K Excise liquor. The accused was arrested and liquor seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 269/15 U/S 48A Excise Act was registered and investigation of the case is going on. |
