jammu, Dec 9: Irked by the cut in security of Kashmir University, the authorities concerned took up the matter with the higher-ups, forcing the police headquarters (PHQ) to rush the withdrawn cops to the campus. The PHQ issued an order a few days back as regards the deployment of 94 police personnel at the campus for its security for a period of two years. They included an Inspector as their head, three SIs, one ASI and nine Havaldars. They were drawn from different armed police battalions, according to police sources. While ordering their posting, PHQ withdrew the 115 cops who were deployed there two years back, making a cut of 21 cops. Sources said as soon as the authorities came to know that PHQ had this time deployed less cops at the campus, they took up the matter with the higher-ups, who forced the PHQ to deploy 21 more cops at the campus. The university now had 115 cops for its security, sources informed. |
