Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 9: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party chairman Harsh Dev Singh today condemning the successive state governments for terming the Administrative Services of Jammu and Kashmir as KAS, KPS and KCS in official records. He sought the rectification of anomalous situation by duly incorporating Jammu region's name in the abbreviations for the said services. In a letter to Chief Minister, Mufti Mohd Sayeed, the JKNPP leader has appealed for renaming the said Administrative Services as JKAS, JKPS and JKCS respectively so as to address the sentiments of various aspirational groups and regions. He regretted that the aforesaid Services continued to omit the name of Jammu region from their nomenclature by mentioning the same as KAS, KPS and KCS in official records thus hurting the self esteem and pride of Jammu region. "The name of the State being J&K, it was highly preposterous to disregard the identity of Jammu region by omitting to make its mention in the highest level administrative services of the state", Singh said. He further said that Jammu region not only suffered, neglect and deprivation in terms of allocation of resources, employment, assembly and Parliamentary seats etc but was being treated as a colony by the Kashmir centric leadership. Urging upon the Chief Minister to address the issue of denied parity, Singh said that not only the concerns of Jammuites for equal opportunities and equitable resources have to be redressed but the larger issue of Jammu's honour dignity and pride has also to be addressed in the proper perspective. |
