Jammu, Dec 9: Task Force on Urban Co-operative Banks(TAFCUB) today held 17th State Level Meeting under the chairmanship of D. Sethy, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India here at Jammu.
According to press release, meeting was attended by Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Registrar of Cooperative Societies, J&K State, Subhash Gupta, Chief Executive, National Federation of Urban Cooperative Banks Ltd.(NAFCUB)Special Secretary, Cooperative Department, Joint Registrar(Bank &Finance), Cooperative Societies, apart from MD/CEOs of four Urban Co-operative banks operating in Jammu and Kashmir.
While welcoming the participants, Sethy highlighted the importance of co-operative movement and the role of TAFCUB in ensuring smooth functioning of Urban Co-operative Banks.
Members were unanimous in requesting the State Government to expedite enactment of 97th Constitutional amendment in the State which will bring in uniformity with respect to the State Cooperative Societies Act and to keep the cooperative bank free from unsolicited outside interference. |
