Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 9: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) workers under the banner of Civic Safai Karamchari Union (CSKU), Drivers and Cleaners Union, Sanitary Supervisors Union and Clerical Union of JMC today held protest and warned that in case the authorities failed to settle their genuine demands, they will launch strike from 10th December. They said that at numerous times they had given representation and submitted charter of demands to the authorities but no positive action has been taken by the municipal administration. They demanded reorganisation of JMC, scrapping of NGO system, establishment of separate hospital for SKCs, sanction of new municipal colony, regularisation of contractual drivers of JMC who have completed eight years of service, conducting of DPC, release of two and half day salary in favour of drivers and cleaner and sanitary supervisor of JMC, promotion of senior drivers as yard master/transport inspector etc. They warned that if these demands were not solved within days the authorities will be responsible for the agitation which will be launched by the employees.
