| House wife commits suicide | | |

Jammu, Jan 12: A 30 year-old house wife allegedly committed suicide by hanging self at her residence in Qasim Nagar area falling under the jurisdiction of Bakshi Nagar police station.
"The deceased has been identified as Monika Gupta wife of Rajesh Gupta of Qasim Nagar Bakshi Nagar, police sources said.
They said that she hanged herself from the hook of ceiling fan of her room with the help of her veil.
Police said that she was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu where she was declared as brought dead.
According to sources she got married around two years ago and had estranged relations with her husband. Police said that after legal formalities, the body was handed over to family members for last rites and a case in this connection has been registered and further investigation is on to ascertain why the married housewife took such an extreme step. However police have not made any arrest till last report came in. |
