JAMMU, Jan 12: In another instance of political patronage to the black sheep in the administration, the officials' of Urban Local Bodies Directorate Kashmir booked by State Vigilance Organization, have been awarded with multiple responsibilities rather than reprimanding them.
Sources told Early Times that the four influential employees' at ULB Kashmir being booked by anti-graft agencies have been elevated as Executive Officers (EOs) to reputed Municipal Committees' in valley.
"Bashir Ahmad Ganie, Executive Officer, booked in two vigilance cases, has been made in-charge of two municipal committees, the official under political patronage is enjoying choice posting", sources informed, adding that all these blue eyed were being blessed by the Directorate of ULB Kashmir.
"Bashir Ahmad Dar involved in number of scams in Pahalgam MC has been made in charge of two Municipal Committees (MCs) including Pahalgam Municipal Committee. Similarly, Gh. Amad Lone involved in making illegal appointments, has been heading the charge of Municipal Committee Shopian", they informed, adding that corrupt official using money power, have monopolized the Directorate.
"Abdul Rashid Teeli, another blue eyed official who made several illegal appointments in Kulgam has looted the State exchequer were enjoying fruits of corruption", they added.
"Some executive officers are enjoying prime postings in spite of being booked by State Vigilance Organization in so many fraud cases of providing illegal appointments and swindling of Government funds. However, those who, (executive officers) refuse to compromise the ethics are attached or suspended without reason due to corruption bid market in Urban Local Bodies Kashmir", sources said.
They further said that there are number of eligible officers, but due to malpractice in the local bodies , they are not being considered for these posts. "In the Directorate, more than two dozen officials are senior most, and their names figure in for promotion to post of executive officers, but since the blue eyed had hijacked, the Directorate, the eligible are deliberately being ignored", they added.
