153rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda observed | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 12 : Various Eductionational institutes , Social organization observed 153rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. On the 153rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Dogra College of Education organized 'Slogan Writing Competition on today in the college Auditorium in Collaboration with NSS Wing of the College. Principal of the college. Shefali Sharma threw light on the teaching of Swami Vivekananda said that his teaching and philosophy touches different aspects of religion youth, education, faith, character building as well as social issues pertaining to India and if his teaching and philosophy were applied then it could prove instrumental in transforming today's Indian society and advised the students to follow the paths suggested by Swami Vivekananda. The students pledged to follow the philosophy of life and ideas of Swami Vivekananda with the aim of making a better future of our country. The Judges for the day were Vintee Kumari, Renu Sharma and Priyanka Sharma. Fifty Teacher trainees participated in slogan writing competition where in they wrote quotations on Swami Vivekananda's philosophy. After full scrutiny, the final winners for the slogan writing competition were Shallu Bala (1st Prize), Radhika Kumari (2nd Prize) and Anjana (3rd Prize). Prominent among those present on the occasion were Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak Secretary Dogra Educational Trust, SC Khajuria, Director Administration & Campus Development. Vote of thanks was moved by Bela Thakur, Academic Coordinator, Dogra College of Education. On the eve of 153rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Ji, the Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission (SVMM) Charitable Hospital, observed its Annual Day at Ambphala today. Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was chief guest on the occasion. ABVP unit of Jammu University today celebrated the 153rd birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda in university campus. Swami Vivekananda was considered as the symbol of knowledge, character and unity and has been a source of inspiration for youths to achieve excellence in their respective field. On the occasion of 153rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Central University of Jammu organized various programmes at the Temporary Academic Block (TAB) at Sainik Colony Jammu. Swami Ekarthananda of Rama Krishana Mission Jammu was the main speaker on this occasion, who threw light on the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda. He said that Swami Vivekananda always stressed upon the fearlessness and spiritual strength. And for this willpower is very necessary to achieve the ultimate goal of life and at the same time physical strength, intellectual strength and spiritual strength is required. National Youth Day was, celebrated at G.D.C- R.S. Pura by the students of Red Ribbon club under the aegis of Principal Dr Savitri Sharma in the library Hall. Eight Groups of students took active part in quiz contest and numerous participants spoke on the occasion of NYD-2016. They threw light on Swami Vivekananda's lectures and writings. In their speeches, they attributed that Swami Vivekananda was a social reformer and a spiritual leader. Swami ji worked to eliminate child marriage and to spread education among women and lower castes. Later Judges Prof Rajeshkant, Prof Satpaul Bhagat, Deepali Maidth, Jasbir Kour finalised the results of students who participated in the quiz contest and paper presentation. Group I (Padmini Kumari, Deepika Kumari and Shikha Sharma), Group II ( Usha Saini, Kavita Saini and Sakshi) Group V (Kamini Sharma, Vishali Malhotra and Neha Chib) were adjudged first, second and third in the quiz contest while Shikha Sharma, Padmini Kumari and Deepika Kumari were declared first, second and third in paper presentation on NYD-2016. Principal Dr Savitri Sharma felicitated the marvelous efforts of today's youth especially the college students in nation building, sharing and shouldering its responsibility for making advancement in all spheres of activities. Red Ribbon Club Programme Officer Dr Jaipal Singh presented vote of thanks while Anupriya Sachhar was the anchor of the event celebrated under the banner of Red Ribbon Club (RRC). |
