Press Council bats for orientation courses for local reporters | | | Early Times Report MENDHAR, Jan 12: Press Council Mendhar organized a metting here today under the presidentship of MS Nazki in which light was thrown on the demand of orientation course for the journalists working for print and electronic media in the area should be held. While chairing the meeting Nazki highlighted that Poonch district being a very sensitive district of the state as it is close to Line of Control (LoC) and the Army units stationed here are playing a vital role to safeguard the border. The army even lend helping hand to the local populace when ever needed either it should be shelling across the border or anything else, he said. He said the local journalists need to join orientation courses for reporting especially defense reporting as mostly the unconfirmed news items were being published which effects the morale of army. Army is doing a marvelous job in the area but some untrained journalists were cause of concern for them he added. While going for the orientation courses the things will go in a smooth and positive way he further asserted/ Nazki urged to Army Commander Northern Command IT Gen DS Hooda to facilitate the said courses so that local reporters can be benefitted and defense news items would come out with a positive touch. He further said on unconfirmed reports politicians also issue their statements in hotchpotch manner. |
