| Within blame game 'CAPD officials in Kotranka Sub Div under scanner' | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Jan 16: Within claims and counter claims a big scam of ration supplied by the department of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CAPD) Department can't be ruled out in Kotranka Sub Division of Rajouri district as the poor people living in far off areas have not been provided ration for the last three months while authorities claim smooth supply of ration within district.
Pertinently in this connection several deputations of the people recently approached Sukhpal Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and apprised him that the poor people are suffering in the absence of ration supplied by CAPD department. The deputation of people while interacting with SDM Kotranka alleged that CAPD dealers in nexus with the officials of Tehsil Supply Office (TSO) are engaged in the black marketing of the ration meant for the poor people. People also alleged that they have been paying several visits to the office of Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) at Kotranka to inform him about our problems. But most of the times the office remains closed on one or other pretext.
Meanwhile a social activist, Farooq Ahmed said, "Instead 35 kilograms ration for per family as per 2001 census the dealers have been issuing 5 kg ration that too after a gap of more than 2 months." After several complaints, Sukhpal Singh, SDM today paid surprise visit to the office of TSO and found the office locked at 12 .15 pm. SDM further said that besides remaining absent from office the TSO has also failed to submit the hard copy of the attendance of his office to his office as per the directions issued by the State Government to all the controlling authorities.
Here it needs to mention that the said official also has missed the meeting of TSOs called by SDM vide SDM/K/2015-16/572-601 dt 31/12/15, in regard to finalize the preparations for Republic Day but neither Roshan Lal ,TSO nor his representative attended the meeting . Apart from this, State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has also been investigating Grain Carriage Scam that has rocked the district and huge financial embezzlements were reported from Kotranka Sub Division. As per Inquiry Officer the aforesaid Tehsil Supply Officer is non-cooperative and yet has not handed over the required evidential material.
Taking all the facts into consideration , Sub Divisional Magistrate, Kotranka today has issued a final explanation notice to Roshan Lal Sharma, TSO to explain his position in writing on or before January 20 that why action under rules/regulations be not initiated against him.
Meantime Roshan Lal, TSO said that the department has not been supplying Rice, Wheat (Atta) Sugar on regular basis. Moreover he is presently putting up at Rajouri to feed the data of the families under NFSA "With some local arrangements, 32Kgs ration have been provided to families under BPL and Antodya Anna Yojna (AAY) categories. Ration under APL category for the months of December and January has not reached yet" said TSO. |
