Jammu, Jan 16 : NIA special judge Kishore Kumar today extended by 14 days the judicial remand of Udhampur terror accused Mohammad Naveed alias Usman, a terrorist and Pak national, and five others. After hearing the two sides, the judge extended by 14 days the judicial remand of Naveed, son of Mohammad Yaqoob of Kukianwala, Rafiq Colony, that falls under Ghulam Mohammed Abad police station of Faisalabad, Pakistan, Khursheed Ahmed Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammed Bhat of Bhatpora near Chursoo in Awantipora, Pulwama, Showkat Ahmed Bhat, son of Ali Mohammad Bhat of Khardermuh, Pulwama, Shabzar Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Nai Basti, Gulshan Abad, Kulgam, Khursheed Ahmed Ittoo and Fayaz Ahmed Ittoo alias Foyaz. On perusal of the CD file, the judge observed that as per the investigation of the case, two accused namely Ashiq Hussain Bhat alias Ubaida and Fayaz Ahmed Shawar were also found involved in the conspiracy behind the terror attack on BSF convoy at Udhampur on August 5, 2015, but they were yet to be arrested. The investigation of the case stands finalized and the case has been processed but accord of sanction for prosecution was awaited from MHA. Therefore the detention of the accused was necessary for launching the prosecution against them. With these observations, the judge extended by 14 days the judicial remand of the accused. --(JNF) |
