JAMMU, Jan 16: The 349th Parkash Utsav of 10th Guru of Sikhs, Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated here today at Sant Mela Singh College of Education near Digiana Ashram with zeal and enthusiasm according to the Nanak Shahi calendar approved by Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and published by SGPC Amritsar within country and abroad.
About 25000 devotees participated in the religious congregation celebrated under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Sheromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch with the cooperation of Sikh Sangat of Jammu district.
Several famous religious personalities from within and outside the state participated and threw light on the life and history of Guru Ji.
Local politicians and social leaders also participated and spoke on this occasion including Ex Minister and PDP leader Rangil Singh, Ex President SGPB Sudarshan Singh Wazir, MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta and Ex-Minister Raman Bhalla. |
