Kishtwar, Jan 15 : The State Hajj committee has issued the notification to all the 22 Deputy Commissioners of the state of Jammu and Kashmir for inviting applications from the persons willing to go to perform Hajj pilgrimage during 2016-17. As per the details available with "Early Times", following the directions of State Hajj Committee, like in other Districts of the state, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Ghulam Nabi Balwan on Thursday issued a general notification seeking the application from the desirous. As per the notification of DC Kishtwar, the process of submitting application begins from 14-01-2016 and will continue till 5-2-2016 and 8-2-2016 as last date for submission of Hajj Application Forum at Hajj House Srinagar and thereafter no application will be entertained. All those willing to perform the Hajj pilgrimage have to submit the Pass Port which should not be expiring before 10-03-2017. Any Passport issued after 8-2-2016 will also not be entertained. The applicants also need to submit photo copies of bank passbook, cancelled bank cheque, Pay in slip indicating payment of processing fee, self declaration on plain paper, photographs and in case the address on Passport is different than the current address, the applicants are required to submit other valid document with address proof like Ration Card, Electricity Bill, Election card, Driving Licenses or Aadhaar Card. After collection of applications from the Hajj aspirants, concerned DCs will forward all those application to Hajj Committee Jammu and Kashmir from where after scrutiny of documents, same will be forwarded to Hajj Committee of India. In case the number of applications for Hajj pilgrimage exceeds the quota, the selection process will be done through draw, however those aspirants who fail to find their names in last three consecutive years through draw will be given preference along with those above 70 years of age. It is pertinent to mention that every year over 1.5 lac people from different parts of India including about 5000 from J&K visit Saudi Arabia for Hajj pilgrimage on subsidy basis and this year flights for Hajj pilgrimage is expected to start in the month of August-September 2016. |
