MVD seizes 15 overloading trucks carrying cement bags from railway station Rudroneel Ghosh 1/16/2016 11:44:08 PM Early Times Report Kathua, Jan16 : Motor Vehicle Department Kathua today took stringent action against daringly overloading of cement bags in trucks bearing registration numbers of both J&K and Punjab while violating Apex court's direction. MVD seized 15 overloaded trucks carrying 4 to 8 tonnes extra weight than actual permitted capacity. While informing about the seizures, S. Amarjeet Singh Regional Transport Officer RTO Kathua informed that the trucks used to carry overloaded cement bags from Railways station Kathua and supplied in entire district & state. He said strict action will be initiated against seized trucks to control on overloading and illegally supply of cements in entire state from Govindsar without any permission. He informed that MVD has been eyeing on the overloading and initiate drive against violation of Apex Court's direction. He informed that MVD Kathua collected 18 lacs as fine in October and 15 Lacs in November from transporters carrying overloading and drive will continue unabated in future too. RTO informed that MVD Lakhanpur is verifying permit and other requisite documents of seized vehicles. RTO warned that nobody will be allowed for violating Apex court's & state government's direction against Overloading.
