| Road Safety Seminar held in Udhampur | | |  Ashwani Sharma

Udhampur, Feb 19: A seminar on the theme "Road safety - The Time To Act Is Now' was organised today at Happy Model Hr Sec School, Udhampur in collaboration with the office of the RTO Udhampur in which large number of students and faculty members were present.
The slogans writing, screening of documentaries, debate contest, road safety Oath and a Quiz were held as the part of activity in the Mahatma Gandi Hall of the Foundation. Addl Deputy Commissioner Angrez Singh Rana ( KAS ) was the chief Guest on the occasion. The chief guest Rana in his address lauded the initiative and hoped that the students will follow the message of road safety in true spirit for safe and better roads. He appealed to the student community to follow all the road safety norms and exhorted them not to put their lives into risk and threat besides pushing pedestrian probe to accidents. He also asked the girls and boys to be the ambassadors of Road safety campaign.
Dr Vikram Gulati administered the Oath of Road Safety to all the guests, teachers and students present inside the hall. Around 14 participants spoke on the topic and six adjudged as best were awarded prizes, certificates of merit and medals. The winners of the contest namely Kartikayan, Mansi, Atul Sharma, were decalred as top three rankers followed by Priya, Suman and Kartik runners up respectively. The chief guest ADC Udhampur Rana presented awards to the winners.
Officer Kenney from the RTO deptt , with the audio visual aid screened a documentary to create awareness about road safety. In the end school Principal Dr Mineesh Gulati presented the vote of thanks. |
