Two bovine smugglers held, 22 bovine animals rescued

RAMBAN, Feb 19: Police claimed to have foiled two attempts of bovine smuggling with the arrest of two bovine smugglers and rescuing twenty two bovine animals from their clutches during naka checking in Ramban.
The accised have been identified as Mohammad Sharief son of Mehndi resident of Camp Gol Gujral Jammu and Murid Ali son of Mohd Yousaf resident of Talab Tillo camp.
According to police spokesperson, a Police Party led by Station House Officer (SHO) Ramban Pardeep Sharma, laid a special naka at National Highway.
"During checking of vehicles, two trucks were signaled to stop for checking in which one of the truck bearing registration no. JK02S-9181 was stopped for checking but another truck driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot, he added.
"Accordingly, information was passed on to Police Party of Ramsoo Police Station, police said further adding, "during the checking of the vehicle, 12 bovine animals were found in a cruel manner being smuggled from Jammu to Kashmir." "The bovines were rescued and driver of the vehicle namely Mohammad Sharief son of Mehndi resident of Camp Gol Gujral Jammu was arrested on the spot, police said.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 29/2016 u/s 188 RPC, 3PCA Act at police station Ramban against the accused.
Yet in another incident a police party led by Station House Officer (SHO) Ramsoo Mohammad Ameen, laid special naka and intercepted another truck bearing registration no. JK02- 7923, which has escaped from Ramban naka. "10 bovines were found in the vehicle loaded in a cruel manner being smuggled from Jammu to Kashmir, police said, adding, "accordingly bovines were rescued and driver of the vehicle namely Murid Ali son of Mohd Yousaf resident of Talab Tillo camp was arrested in a case registered under FIR No. 09/2016 u/s 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act at PS Ramsoo."
The bovine smugglings bids were conducted under the direct supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban Randeep Kumar.
