Jammu, Feb 23: 402nd series of popular Forest and Environment awareness programme 'Tree Talk' was held at Government High School Badyal Quazian, R.S. Pura. Director Environment and Remote Sensing, O.P. Sharma Vidyarthi was chief guest on the occasion. The Director in his address highlighted the importance of the event and urged the participants especially students to actively participate in plantation drives to save earth from the threat of global warming. He said that concerted efforts need to be made in demonstrating our global concern so as to have a visible impact at the grass root level. He said that Tree Talk is a platform where not only forest and environment experts and subject specialists come together but villagers, poets, historians, students and teachers also share their ideas and explore their roles in contributing towards the task of environment protection as a universal responsibility. A two hour long discussion which focused on strategies to achieve better management of environment saw an active participation from students. Sarpanch Panchayat Badyal Quazian, Garu Ram, Prof. Ranjot Singh from GDC R.S. Pura, ZPO, R.S. Pura, Suresh Dubey, Headmaster GHS Badyal Quazian, P.L. Dubey and SHO, R.S. Pura, B.S. Manhas besides faculty members, prominent citizens and students in large number were also present on the occasion. |
