Jammu, Feb 23:Despite the State Paramedical Council (SPC) is crystal clear directives to get admission in various courses being offered by the state run' institutions and private colleges for paramedical courses across the state but dozens of private colleges running in state which are registered under Indian Nursing Council (INC) been following different criteria to give admission in paramedical courses. It is pertinent to mention here that while offering courses to trainees by the SPC, is clearly mentioned in their notification that those who have passed 12th class with science streams to be considered for the courses but some dozens of paramedical colleges who are offered same courses, have sets different eligibility that is 12th passed in any streams. "Resulting, during the recruitment, makes the competition tough and those who have studied in state's run institutions become laggard". An RTI activist, pleading anonymity said that most of the Paramedical Nursing Colleges which are registered under INC are run by politicians with the collaboration of bureaucrats and businessmen, so, it is only reasons, due to which the state paramedical council even not raised question over different yardsticks of admission so far, adding, "If Indian Nursing Council norms have allowed to those aspirants who have passed 12th class in any streams to get admission and get authorized for the job. Why SPC is restricting to trainees for admission? ", he questioned. "Those who are not succeeded to get admission in Ancillary Medical Training School, Jammu and district based Ancillary Medical Nursing Training Schools, are moved toward private colleges registered under INC and paying huge money to get trainee in different courses", he added. Reliable source in department said, "Nobody dare to raise question over double yardsticks being adopted by the Medical department, so, everyone know that some of the former health ministers have run the private paramedical institutes and earned huge money". However, repeatedly claims by the government that it commits weeding out all the deadwoods form the department but some close aids of former health minister and prevailing loopholes in the functioning of the council, providing fertile ground to extract more money and also restricting amendments in the set norms of SPC. |
