Early Times Report

srinagar, Feb 23: Even as the hectic lobbying is on at New Delhi over government formation, PDP leadership is all set to leave no stone unturned to ensure at least some assurances from the BJPhigh command. Even if BJP doesn't budge, PDP then won't mind to stay out of power.
"We will try our best for the betterment of state. But if BJP high command will not give us concrete assurance on Agenda of Alliance then we will not form government, we are ready to stay out of power," said Top PDP leader, who wished anonymity.
Narrowing the differences with BJP on certain contentious issues are in a process, PDP sources privy told early times that, " A number of important issues have been expressed concern over government formation, has been raised with the top leaders of BJP, but has yet failed to meet on any conclusion. We have not decided yet anything that we should continue our alliance or not.
PDP envoy Haseeb Drabu, who played a key role in formation of PDP- BJP government last year, held a closed door meeting with BJP chief Amit Shah and several other top BJP leaders in Delhi for last three days to discuss implementation of some of the demands of Mehbooba Mufti, who will take over as CM if only the two parties ready to form government in Jammu and Kashmir.
Recently, meeting held between Mehbooba and Madhav at her residence here in Srinagar, she has categorically told Madhav, until and unless New Delhi will not to initiate specific CBMs, both on the political and economical front, and also had sought concrete and written implementation of the agenda of alliance before any progress could be achieved on re-stitching the PDP-BJP alliance
"PDP won't compromise for anything. We will not form government with BJP if they will not move on AoA. It was observed that Agenda of Alliance was not being implemented the way late chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed wanted it to be. So Mehbooba ji took a stand and asked BJP to fall in line," source added.
According to top sources, recently a long hour, first ever formal meeting over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir between the Madhav and Mehbooba that ended around late night has failed to arrive at any conclusion, results the continuity of deadlock over forging the alliance between PDP and BJP.
According to sources, Mehbooba has insisted the concrete and written assurance from the Central government on agenda of alliance Madhav said, "first you took oath then we will move and work on Agenda of Alliance." She replied, "give written assurance on agenda of alliance, after then I will take oath as Chief Minister," then later after a long discussion between the two leaders, Madhav said, "Food was good and he left" top PDP sources told early times.
Both PDP and BJP have formally initiated to discuss the issues that are impeding the new government formation. However, Mehbooba had made it clear that she will not form the government with BJP in the State if the Central government does not fulfill the confidence building measures (CBMs) for the state.
