Early Times Report RAMBAN, Feb 23: With the purpose of taking AYUSH systems of health care to the grass root level and at every village and city of the state under National AYUSH Mission an AYUSH awareness camp was organized in village Tethar, Block Banihal, District Ramban. A series of public awareness lectures were delivered by the team of experts led by Nodal Officer, National AYUSH Mission, Jammu Division Dr Rohit Gupta, in coordination with the district AYUSH team, Ramban. In this programme, Dr Rohit Gupta briefed public about AYUSH systems and their strengths and National AYUSH Mission. Public was also made aware about the AYUSH GRAM programme of National AYUSH Mission for which village Tethar has been selected by the Directorate General ISM for AYUSH GRAM in district Ramban. Dr.Gupta further highlighted that AYUSH GRAM would be the rural platform for delivering AYUSH interventions for health promotion and disease prevention. Also, in the sidelines of programme, Sarpanch, Panch alongwith revenue authorities identified a piece of land for establishing a herbal garden in the village, wherein medicinal plants of that particular agro-climatic zone would be planted. Dr Aftab Iqbal Mir expert in Medicinal Plants Sector highlighted importance of various medicinal plants available in the area and various opportunities for farming communities in Medicinal Plant Sector. The awareness programes were followed by a free AYUSH consultation camp wherein team of doctors and paramedics from District Ramban comprising examined and treated 613 patients in village Tethar. Public of the village availed free AYUSH consultations and medicines enthusiastically. |
