2/24/2016 10:45:57 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 24: All Jammu and Kashmir SRTC Volunteer Retired Employees Association staged protest demonstration under the leadership of its president Dev Raj Bali and criticized the last government for not fulfilling their promise to resolve their issues.
A large number of volunteer retired employees assembled at Press Club and raised slogans against the government. Speaking on the occasion, Dev Raj Bali said the attitude of the Ex-State Government for not making good the promise which was made with us regarding the one time settlement of our dues but sorry to say here that the ex govt. has not fulfilled the promise whereas from the Central funds were released but our case remained pending and we are for the last five years on the road and giving demonstrations and dharnas for our dues and our families have been facing acute financial problems. It is very sorry state of affairs that 12 VRS/GHS employees have also expired 'in this long struggle as they could not afford good treatments for want of funds. We are unable to understand why this treatment is given to us whereas the central Govt. has released Rs.80,000 crores package for the state but we have not been given-our legitimate dues.
