Jammu, Feb 24: Nearly 80 consultants from Jammu, who were selected by Public Service Commission in 2015, are running pillar to post for their posting as the Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department has adopted dual yardstick for two region of the State. Pertinently, in 2015 the interviews of 220 consultants post for the Pathology, Orthopaedic, Surgery, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Medicine, Gynaecology and others were conducted across the State through Public Service Commission (PSC) and expected 80 consultants, rest joined their respective places of posting as order of posting issued by State . If sources (at H&ME) are believed, influenced by few heavy weight politicians are behind the delay in posting of these consultants owing to this these consultants unable to deliver their services to the needy patients. In Kashmir province, same consultants had joined their duties after getting order from the H&ME department in last year. "Despite the repeated reminders were sent to Secretary for Health and Medical Education Department MK Bhandari Secretary as well as a delegation also met with officials of the department but till date assurances from officials of the department have not been materialized, "Sources alleged. A group of consultants wishing anonymity told Early Times that a memorandum also submitted to Governor's house for seeking his intervention in the matter some days back but nothing has been done in this regard. "Earlier, we also taken up with Secretary for Health and Medical Education Department and other officials of the same department but they assured us, within days, the posting order would be issued but more than two months have been passed, no such order has been issued by them, " they alleged. When contacted, Advisor to Governor Prevez Deewan said the "issue is not in my knowledge. Let me first check the matter." |
