lllegal construction on 300 kanals found on state land in Kishtwar | ADC orders demolition, seeks explanation from officials | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Kishtwar, Feb 24: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma after finding mass scale illegal construction on state land spread over 300 kanals in the close vicinity of the Kishtwar town in Shalimar area and all along the National Highway directed Tehsildar Kishtwar to remove the illegal construction that has been raised on the state land, Kahcharai Land and Common and submitted a detail action taken report in five days. As per the details available with "Early Times", ADC Kishtwar in its communication to Deputy Commissioner vide No. DCK/HQA/895-96/15 Dated 13-02-2016 stated that during his visit to Malipath-Shalimar area regarding the identification of the land for Solid Waste Management Plant added that on way to site (Nallah) Shalimar, it was observed that people have encroached upon the state land at various places wherein illegal construction has been raised on the said state land which according to ADC Kishtwar is illegal and in violation of law. After noticing large scale illegal construction, ADC Kishtwar asked concern Patwari to explain his position that why this large scale illegal construction has been raised on the state land despite his presence in the halqa added that concern Patwari explained that some people have managed entries in the revenue record, while some peoples have been given the benefits under Roshni Act as the land in question apparently does not fall under preview of Roshni Act. After going through the details, ADC Kishtwar on the direction of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar directed Tehsildar Kishtwar, Naib Tehsildar Kishtwar, Girdawar and Halqa Patwari to immediately verify the revenue record and after spot verification remove all the illegal construction on the state land, Kahchari land and common land, beside also ask them to explain how this illegal encroachment of state land took place. When contacted ADC Kishtwar Kishori Lal Sharma confirmed to "Early Times" that mass scale illegal construction exists on state land in the area which is in close vicinity of the Kishtwar town. He said that as per preliminary investigation, over 700 kanals of state land was encroached by the people in Shalimar, Wasurkund, Malipath and its adjoining areas and out of the encroached state land, illegal structures were present on approximately over 300 kanal of land, added that the directions had been passed to the concerned officials for taking immediate and necessary step with regard to removal of encroachment from the state land. In a question regarding action against guilty officials involved in making wrong entries in the revenue record that promotes encroachment of state land and common land, ADC Kishtwar said that it is the matter of investigation and assured that action will be taken against the officials whosoever it may be found involved in making illegal entries in the revenue record against state land or common land. |
