Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 24: To discuss issues related to Jat community in J&K and to condole the death of Jat protesters in Haryana in recent row, All India Jat Mahasabha state President Ch Manmohan Singh called a core committee meeting today and demanded from state authorities to consider the reservation to the jat community as our people living along borders having lost all their homes and hearth and are facing financial crisis. During the meeting State president Jat mahasabha Mr Singh said, "After witnessing the extent of Jat community protests, the Rajasthan Govt has opened communications with their Jat leaders on those two districts which previously didn't fall under reservation but now will be granted." He said authorities in J&K too must consider this issue under humanitarian grounds. Ch Manmohan Singh underlined the need of reservation to Jat community as Jat community living near borders is living in absolute financial misery and social degradation. Ch Manmohan Singh however assured that the Jats of J&K will raise their demands peacefully and added if they are forced, they will intensify protest and Govt should be responsible for losses. Meeting concluded by resolving that Governor of the State N N Vohra should be apprised with the long pending demand of OBC for Jats of this state.
