Chann Arorian residents stage protest | | | Early Times Report Kathua, Feb 24: A large number of people from Chann Arorian village today staged protest demonstration against Public Works Department and appealed Governor to construct drainage system of length 700-800 mtrs. While addressing to protesters, Balbir Singh, a Panch of Rural Body Chann Arorian said nearly 120 families are suffering due to improper drainage system as water from upside areas being collected at Main part of the village Chann Arorian resulting damaged to lanes and hard to walk. He appealed Governor to redress their long pending demand for proper drainage system in the village. Deepak Raina a local social worker said the drainage system that should be 4 ft deep, 3 feet wide and 700-800 mtrs long is not according to the requirement. He said rainy and waste water from houses getting collected on the road resulting communicative diseases, bad road connectivity and suffering of passers-by. He said deputation called on concerned department that assures tender for the constructing of drainage system but nothing has been done at ground level. He appealed Governor and district administration to redress the long pending demand of the public and mitigate their suffering. |
