Cultural Bonanza for Inmates of Nari Niketan organized 3/4/2016 10:25:22 PM Early Times Report KATHUA, Mar 4: District Information Centre Kathua organized a cultural programme for the inmates of Nari Niketan, here today. District Social Welfare Officer Surinder Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme began with impressive performances by girl inmates which was highly appreciated by gathering .The artists of Information Department comprising of Naroshtam Mahi, Bunti, Vishal Pathania, Sunil, Joginder Kumar and Vikram Charbathia gave their folk and theme based performances in Dogri, Hindi and Punjabi While speaking on the occasion, DSWO Kathua Surinder Sharma said that Nari Niketan being run by Social Welfare Department, Kathua provides shelter to the destitute children, orphan and helpless women's. He thanked the Information Department for organising the programme and also for providing an opportunity to the inmates to exhibit their talent which will boost their confidence. He also appreciated participants for their impressive performances. Superintendent of Nari Niketan Kailash Kumari also said that such initiatives by the department would help in encouraging the inmates.
