The work on the road was taken up 14 years back, ie in 2002, but it was yet to be completed. People travelling on this 13 km road stretch were facing lot of problems due to its bad condition. A deputation of inhabitants of Bunjwah and its adjoining areas, led by BJP leader Farooq Ahmed Keen, today called on Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Balwan and apprised him of the slow pace of work by JKPCC on Dunadi-Bunjwah road and added that due to slow pace of construction, the people travelling in the area were facing lot of problems. They urged the DC to direct JKPCC and the contractor to finish road widening and cutting of rocks prior to the agriculture season so that their crops could be saved. "We have urged JKPCC to start the widening work before commencement of the agriculture season. Any delay in this regard will lead to damage of crops," said Farooq Keen and added that time was ripe to carry out the work. The DC later took up the matter with JKPCC executive engineer and directed him to carry out the work of road widening on priority basis so that there was no damage to crops of farmers. He also directed him to expedite the construction work. |
