poonch, Mar 4: Even as driving an 'unnumbered' vehicle in Poonch isn't easy as cops do take a note of it and, at times, have seized such vehicles, the 'all powerful' ARTO has been moving around the city here under the otherwise 'watchful' police eyes in his new Swift car that doesn't display a registration number.
"This act of ARTO, Poonch, Jehangir Ahmad Khan amounts to violation of traffic rules," official sources said.
Sources said while the ARTO had got a registration number for his new car, he had not yet displayed it. Had it been someone else, the car would have been seized or at least challaned by police, the sources added
The drivers' union here has also expressed its concern over the issue, saying law should be equal for all. They also alleged that despite Government directives, permits for autorickshaws and Sumo cabs were not being given to unemployed youth in Poonch district. |
