Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 21 bovines rescued, one held | | | Early Times Report
Ramban, Mar 04: Continuing to its special drive to curb the menace of bovine smuggling, the Ramban police foiled attempt of the bovine smuggling bid and rescued 21 bovine animals with the arrest of one accused while the manhunt is on to nab others who managed to escape. According to police spokesperson, an attempt of bovine smuggling was foiled by Sleuths of District Special Branch at Ramban when a special naka was established at Gool Ramban link road during the intervening night of March ¾. "During checking of vehicles, 2 Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration nos: JK19-1846 and JK19-1611 were stopped for checking, police said adding, "during the naka checking, one of the driver of Tata Mahindra, sensing trouble by police party, escaped from the spot leaving behind his vehicle." During the checking of the both vehicle, 21 bovine animals were found to be loaded in a cruel manner being smuggled from Gool to Kashmir Valley, police said, and added that the bovines were rescued and driver of the vehicle namely Mohd Rafiq s/o Abdul Rashid of Kanga, Ramban was arrested on the spot while other absconding driver has been identified as Bashir Ahmed of Kanga. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 39u/s 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Batote. Police team headed by, IC PP Jawahar Tunnel made the arrests under the supervision of SHO Ramban Pardeep Sharma, Dy SP Ramban Rafiq Choudhary and SSP Randeep Kumar. |
