Jammu, Mar 4: Excise Department sleuths today destroyed 1150 Ltrs of Lahan (illicit Liquor) and 40 bottles of illicit liqour made from during raids conducted in Kathua and Jammu districts of Jammu region of state
According to official spokesperson, under the supervision of Excise Commissioner, J&K T Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, Excise Team Kathua under the command of ETO, Sandeep Gupta raided the Charala, Saktachak, Banyari, Barnoti and Sitdyal areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation."
"Over 850 hundred Ltrs of Lahan and forty bottles of illicit liqour made from a lahan recovered by the raiding team which was later destroyed by the team on spot, spokesperson said.
He added, "Another team under the command of ETO, Eradication Jammu, Suresh Sharma, raided the Kotli, Charkan, Salehar, Kothey, Bulande, Shibuchak, Shiekhpur, Kriel and Lalyane areas of R S Pura and Bishna of Jammu district and destroyed 300 litrs of lahan.
"The department has warned that strict action shall be taken against those found indulging in such illegal practices, the spokesperson added. |
