| Grameen Bank organizes awareness programme | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 4 : J&K Grameen Bank in collaboration with NABARD organized awareness programmes at Sure Chack B/O Phallian distt Jammu.
Chairman J&K Grameen Bank, RK Chhibber, who was the chief guest on the occasion, spoke at length about various bank schemes i.e., Farmer Clubs (FC's), Self Help Groups (SHG's) & Joint Liability Groups (JLG's).
He highlighted that Joint Liability Group approach is an effective credit delivery methodology for banks to reach clients like small farmers, marginal farmers, tenant farmers, share croppers, oral lessees and also micro entrepreneurs and therefore an important tool for poverty alleviation and social cohesion.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest V.K. Sharma Sr. Manager MF&FI Deptt. J&K Grameen Bank informed the gathering that these schemes have been designed to provide security cover to the poor population particularly those working in the unorganized sectors.
He advised the people to avail this benefit through nearest Grameen Bank Branch. He also made people aware of Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
Area Manager Jammu Randhir Singh Billawria spoke at length about the various Bank/NABARD schemes.
FLCC Jammu Mohinder Kumar also spoke about various bank schemes and training being imparted by them. |
