DC visits Sunderbani to assess loss to crops, houses due to rains | | | Early Times Report
sunderbani, Mar 21: On the call made by the team Sunderbani through SHO Sunderbani and Agriculture department, the Deputy Commissioner Rajouri today visited Sunderbani and took stock of the damages caused due to heavy rainfall and hailstorm earlier this week. According to press release, the team Sunderbani met the DC and demanded rational assessment of the damage caused to the crop and residential establishments and relief and compensation should be distributed accordingly to the victims who suffered huge loss due to the unprecedented rain and hailstorm. The Deputy Commissioner took on spot assessment of losses caused to standing crops and issued on spot directions to the officers of revenue, agriculture, horticulture and sericulture department to immediately assess the losses and submit a detailed report at an earliest. Meanwhile, in an interaction with the District Commissioner Team Sunderbani activist Sarvjeet Sharma alleged that politicians of all the parties those who offered visit to the affected area were much of the their PR and for newspapers consumption, as nothing fruitful to the affected families was visible on ground. SHO Sunderbani Narinder Singh Jamwal while addressing the gathering said that as per the official report as much as 39 cases of house damage were registered and a report in this regard was immediately forwarded to the DC Office. "The actual number of hailstorm victim is greater than the official figure, it is because most of the Victims did not filed FIR to the Police station" he said and appealed those leftover victims to file FIR in the police station as soon as possible. |
