Kurkure, Lays, Punjabi Tadka shown as 'sons' on ration card! 3/21/2016 11:20:19 PM S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report KUPWARA, Mar 21: Kurkure, Lays, and Punjabi Tadka have been shown as sons of a ration card holder here in Handwara Tehsil of Kupwara district in North Kashmir. According to sources the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department has not only faced sharp criticism but the ration card with funny details of family members has gone viral on the social networking sites like facebook, whatsapp and other platforms. Sources said that CAPD department Kupwara has issued a ration card vide card no: 0100100002800002-00005074 and AD/DFSO, TSO/AFSO-TSO Handwara to the head of the family in Handwara tehsil. Ration card details have been shown as: Ali Mohammad S/O Wali Mohammad, Mareema 40, wife, and their three sons as Kurkere 10, Lays 8, and Punjabi Tadka 6, R/O Willgam Handwara, tehsil Handwara and district Kupwara. Bashir Ahmad (name changed) a local resident of Kupwara district said that this is not the first time when the CAPD department has caught an attention of the common masses for their wrong doings but it completely shows that how irresponsible they are in their work culture. "The angry consumers of CAPD staged a sit-in across the valley and were chanting slogans against the Act as well as the department, but neither they brought accuracies in ration cards nor they are ready to change their work culture," said a local resident. Notably dozens of villages in north Kashmir's Kupwara district staged protest against the same and had asked higher ups to take immediate action against the recently implemented NFSA act in the state. Pertinently, CAPD department had shown inaccuracies in consumer data in various districts of Kashmir valley especially in Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora. A unique Ration Card number 00007318 on serial number 2659 was uploaded on union government's PDS portalwww.pdsportal.nic.in under PDS Beneficiaries Register. The most interesting thing in the card details was its address and names of family members. The house number was given as 420, land mark and locality was mentioned as "Mental Hospital. The family details were mentioned as 'Allah Duhai Hai' as head of family aged 120 years, 'ABA' aged 100 was mentioned as son of 'Allah Duhai hai' whereas 'JABA' and 'DABA' aged 100 were mentioned as daughters of 'Allah Duhai Hai'.
