Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 21: A senior IPS officer of J&K, who had virtually been sidelined and not given a 'good' posting in the State since long for want of political connections, has ultimately succeeded to get a choice posting. Courtesy: Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). When all his efforts to get a 'significant' posting failed, he approached a powerful Union Minister in New Delhi. "The Minister responded positively as both of them hail from the same city," according to police sources. The Minister, in turn, influenced MHA for the IPS officer's transfer to the place of his choice in J&K. Sources said after MHA recommended the IPS officer's name to the State administration, he was posted at the place of his choice. He has served in Jammu region earlier also, but has done most of his service in Kashmir. Several of his batchmates and seniors too had activiated their resources for a posting at the place the IPS officer was posted, but all their efforts failed, following MHA's intervention, the sources claimed. Sources claimed that he had been assured that no one was going to touch him for at least an year and a half. |
