BJP tipped Mehbooba of possible split in PDP? | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 21: The rethinking on the part of the BJP to engineer split in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has given a fresh lease of hope for the revival of the BJP-PDP Government in the State. According to sources, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti was informed about the imminent split in her party by the top leadership of BJP, who also told her that the party doesn't want it to happen. "We told her that it's not we but rather a section of her party which is willing to cross over, so she better decide and if possible try to check it. We don't want to split her party which has reposed faith in us but things can't be allowed to carry on like this. We too have to answer people when they will ask why you didn't form the Government for a long time," said a senior BJP leader. "Mehbooba Mufti is being politely told that statecraft is a serious and complicated matrix and it can't run on the conditions. If she has some reservations than things can be worked only when she is the CM but giving an impression that she can dictate to the Government of India as a president of the regional party doesn't work in Delhi. She has to understand it and we are ready to cooperate," said a senior BJP leader. Sources said her threat of leading the party alone to her legislators hasn't also worked out as some had reportedly communicated that if she intends not to form the Government then they too can part ways and this lead to serious re-thinking on her part. |
