NPSU bats for compulsory inclusion of Dogri in Schools, colleges | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 21 : Reiterating the demand of compulsory inclusion of Dogri in School and college curriculum, NPSU held a press conference at party headquarters in Jammu on Monday. Showing concern for Dogri language which was included in the 8th schedule due to the persistent efforts of the Dogras, Thakur Virender Singh State President NPSU said that the revered language had not received its due share so far due to lackadaisical approach of the BJP legislators in the previous BJP-PDP government. He added that it would inculcate the interest among the youth to know about rich tradition, culture and history of Dogra heritage. He disclosed that 70% of the schools did not teach Dogri subject and where it had been introduced; there was non-availability of the teachers. He lamented that advertisement for the posts of teachers and professors was rarely seen in the notification of SSB and JKPSC. He emphasized on the need to establish and separate Duggar Channel. He urged upon the Governor to personally intervene into the matter and facilitate establishment of Duggar TV channel as this was the long cherished dream of the people of Jammu region. Others who were present in the press conference included Rishi Badyal, Deepak Sharma, Asha Rani and others. |
