Two held with intoxicants, drugs in city

JAMMU, Mar 21: In its continuous drive against the drug peddlers and to curb the drug menace and its circulation among the youth of Jammu, Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered over 1100 intoxicant capsules and 30 bottles of banned syrup during two seprate nakas in winter capital.
The accused have been identified as Rajeshwar Singh alias Pintu S Rampura Gandhi Nagar Jammu and Mohan Singh of Roop Nagar. Police spokesman said that during Naka checking, one person coming towards Jammu City from Satwari in suspicious circumstances carrying a bag on his shoulder was intercepted.
"During checking police team recovered 500 Spm-prc capsules and 30 bottles of corex from his possession, police said. Police said,"The accused on questioning disclosed that the consignment in question is meant for sale among the youths of J&K state."
The catch was made by a team headed by SHO Gandhi Nagar, DySP (P) Mir Imtiyaz Ahmed assisted by PSI Vicky Thapa under close supervision of Sachin Gupta, DySP SDPO City South and Shazad Ahmed Salaria, SP City South.
