Five bovine smugglers held, 28 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 21: police today claimed to have foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of five accused besides rescuing 28 bovine animals being illegally transported to valley. The accused have been identified as Jamat Ali s/o Hakim Din r/o Maralian, Bikram Singh s/o Puran Singh r/o Ramban, Manzoor Ahmed s/o Mohd Shafi r/o Dansal at present Muralian, Karanjeet Singh s/o Krishan Singh of Ramban and Happy s/o Kulvinder r/o Patti Lakhora ,Punjab. According to police spokesperson, a bovine smuggling bid was foiled by the Gangyal police with the arrest of five bovine smugglers besides rescuing twenty eight bovine animals here today. "Based on specific information Gangyal police laid a special naka at Gangyal Chowk and intercepted two trucks bearing No PB06v/6433 and KJ 14a/6265 and during frisking police recovered bovine animals being smuggled to Srinagar, police spokesperson said. "All the five accused were also arrested on spot for failing to provide pre-requisite documents for inter district transportation of animals, police said. Police have registered a case under FIR No 38 u/s 188 RPC and 3 PC Act against the accused and further investigations are on. The catch was made by SHO Gangyal Aejaz Ahmed Wani under the supervision of SP South Sehjad Salaria. |
