Under SANJEEVNI, police nabs drug peddler with 2740 intoxicants | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 28: Police today claimed to have arrested a drug smuggler under Sanjeevni project and recovered a huge consignment of over 2700 intoxicants drugs from his possession at city area during a naka checking today. "The accused has been identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Sonu of Dal Bali Gali-Kanak Mandi," police spokesperson said. Police spokesman said, "in a major boost to operation 'Sanjeevani' launched against drugs by SSP Jammu, Dr Sunil Gupta, city police along with District Special Branch (DSB) today arrested an intoxicant peddler and recovered around 2740 intoxicants from his possession. "On specific information a police party led by Inspector Shakti Sharma, SHO City under the supervision of SDPO (North) Vivek Shekhar along with DSB team raised laid a special naka at Malhotra Gali, Kanak Mandi and intercepted the accused Rakesh Kumar alias Sonu and recovered 2240 Spasmo Proxyvon capsules and 500 Nitravet tablets. Police said that they arrested the Rakesh Kumar and seized the consignment. Spokes person added that the overall operation was supervised by DySP (Hqrs) Sugandha Mahajan and SP (North) Vinod Kumar. A case in this regard has been registered under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act and further investigation is on to ascertain source and destination if the consignment. |
