NC legislator abuses VLW for not following diktats, audio clip goes viral | | | Early Times Report
Kulgam, Mar 28: The audio clip, in which National Conference legislator, Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi, allegedly hurls abuses on a Village Level Worker, Parvez Ahmed, of Rural Development Department has gone viral and is making rounds on social networking sites including Whatsapp. On Monday, dozens of Village Level Workers of Rural Development Department led by President All Jammu and Kashmir Village Level Workers Association Bashir Ahmed, held protests against the Larmi, who represents Homeshalibug constituency, Bhat, told media that under central sponsored program 'Swach Bharat Mission' (SBM) victim VLW from Frisal Block Parvez Ahmed had distributed 37 cheques among beneficiaries according to norms which irked the legislator as he wanted to distribute the same among beneficiaries at his party headquarters for political gains. "National Conference Legislator Abdul Majeed Larmi called Parvez on phone and abused him. He was aghast why VLW himself distributed the cheques," he said and demanded action against the Legislator for his irresponsible behavior. "Larmi called me from his phone number 9797200583 and ordered me to handover the SBM cheques to him. When I told him those have already been distributed among the beneficiaries, he lost his cool and started abusing me and my family members," Parvez Ahmed the victim said. "His tone was horrible and abusive. I requested him not to abuse me but he didn't stop. My three year's old daughter was scared," he said. Lawmaker Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi told media that it is a 'bogus' recording aimed at to malign his image. Larmi however admitted that he demanded the handing over of SBM cheques from VLW. "These VLW's are 'corrupt' and loot people. Under SBM program for the construction of lavatories they seek commission from he beneficiaries," he alleged. Meanwhile, Early Times learnt form reliable sources that victim employee was pressurized and was asked not to file a written complaint with police against the lawmaker. "His own colleagues pressurized him and asked him not to file complaint," employee accompanying the victim told ET. President, Bashir Ahmad Bhat too confirmed that they will not file complaint against the lawmaker. "We raised the issue through media let's see what happens. We don't have any plan to file a complaint against the lawmaker at this point of time," he added. |
