Poonch, Mar 28: After lapse of two years when devastated flood shook the state, Drungli Bridge is waiting for its maintenance. Two years after the deadly floods of 2014, Poonch is still suffering due to the negligence of the civil administration. Due to the floods of September 2014, both the bridges connecting city of poonch with rest of the world got partial or full destruction. Sher-e-Kashmir bridge was badly affected and the bridge in the Drungli Nullah was also collapsed. Youth of the Poonch under the leadership of Congress leader Imtiaz Salaria registered a strong protest at the site of the bridge along with his supporters. Protesters also raised the slogans against the district administration and warned them of strict repercussion of the connectivity does not restored as early as possible. Imtiaz said that, huge funds has been drawn from the state exchequer regarding renovation of these two bridges but as of now, nothing is concrete done so far on the spot. He also lambasted the civil administration regarding the links road build by the construction agencies towards Gurdawara Nangali Saab. Saab said that, these projects are deliberately kept on such mode, just to keep drawing funds. Salaria said that, due to single road that too in worst conditions, resulted into huge traffic jams more often. He said, authorities should take a notice of it as early as possible and they need to wake from their deep slumber as public at large is badly affected by this. Others joined the protests include Nishchal Sharma, Emar Chodhary, Sunil Sharma, Balvinder Singh, Yogal Kishore, Rashid Ahmed and Imran Gani. |
