SVO-K produces challan against then DPO Kupwara | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 28 : State Vigilance Organization (SVO) Kashmir today produced supplementary Challan before the Anti-Corruption Court, Baramulla against the government public servant the then District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Kupwara for his alleged involvement in purchase of sub-standard sanitary items. According to SVO spokesperson, the Case was registered on the allegations that the then District Panchayat officer Ghulam Mohammad Brakboo (now retired) in league with the self help groups of Kupwara purchased sub-standard sanitary items and supplied to different BDO's on highly exorbitant rates, resulting in loss to the State exchequer. "During investigation it was established that the accused has abused his official position and conferred pecuniary benefits/advantage upon the accused beneficiaries and arrayed as co-accused in the instant case ," he said. Accordingly a Case FIR No:FIR 117/2005 P/S Kupwara was registered against the public servant (now retired) namely Ghulam Mohammad Brakboo the then District Panchayat Officer (DPO) Kupwara, he said. He added the Investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the accused for launching prosecution; the supplementary Challan of the case against the said accused has been produced before the Court of Special Judge Anti-corruption, Baramulla Kashmir. |
