RAMBAN, Mar 30: Social Forestry (SF) organized a programme to celebrate World Arbour Day in the premises of Government High School Chanderkote here today.
According to press release, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban, Bashir Ahmed Dar kick-started plantation drive by planting Silver Oak Tree in the school premises.
While welcoming the chief guest and other guests Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Social Forestry, Ashok Kalsi chalked out all type of activities of his department organised in various parts of the district throughout the year.
Chief Planning Officer (CPO) Ramban, Parshotam Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Ramban, Chief Horticulture Officer (CHO), Ramban Lokesh Bali besides other district officers, teachers, students and local people were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, a debate competition was also organised in which the students of the 9th class of the said school namely Karnail Singh, Bipashi Sharma and Mehrun Nisa stood first, second and third respectively.
Later, as many as 150 trees of different kind were planted in the school ground and surrounding areas. |
